Skywatcher handset compatibility question.

Recommended Posts

Yesish...

The handbox connection is DB9 on the EQ6 and RJ-45 on the EQ3 Pro... some one might do an adaptor... or provided you know the pinouts of both then one of the cheap modular adaptors would do it...

What you neeed is a £5 HEQ5 Syntrek when you already have and EQ3 Pro then you can swap handsets ;):D:D

The Synscan EQ handset works with all the Skywatcher Synscan mounts so you would only need to purchase the EQ6 Syntrek mount and use your existing handset. You may also need a new cable for the EQ6 mount. The Synscan handset won't work with the non goto EQ6 mount.

I know this is unlikely, but are the Celestron and Skywatcher versions of their GOTO handsets compatible with each other's scopes?
