Nice galaxy capture Franck.

It needs some flats though...there are a lot of dust bunnies showing that would be sorted out by flats, and the contrast would be much improved too.

Hello Franck.

You won't regret it at all if you get into the routine of shooting flats.

It makes all the post processing much easier, and they aren't hard to do, especially with an electroluminescent panel.

With small faint targets like this one, you'll be amazed how much more you can pull out when flats have been applied ;)

Franck, here in France the panels described by Rob are sold by Selectronic but Gerd Neumann of Astronomik has also found a good one to use. You can try Telescope Service for those I think.

It is getting hot here. My 2 stage Peltier was just hanging onto -20 and Tom O'D was just about able to hold that as well in his Atik 11 meg. I guess you are even hotter at lower altitude?
