M51 15-04-2010

Not one of my best images that I have taken, but then it's a learning curve each time I try anything. Anyway this M51 was taken with a ED80 and a modified DSI Pro at AstroAdventures, using my own HEQ5 Pro and guideing was done witha QHY5 guide camera. 8 x 8min exposures, tweaked in photoshop by my brother. Not sure what happened maybe the seeing was not good enough or the focus was off? Does a ED80 have enough light gathering to do deepsky stuff like this?

The ED80 should be fine for DSO stuff. The images is a little out of focus but the tracking looks good so you are nearly there.
