Hi All,

Just got my Baader solar film filter + solar continuum filter courtesy of FLO (cheers Steve and James:)) and was wondering.....How long one can look at the sun in a session with these babies? I mean, the OTA, I presume, will heat up (I'm intending to use it in conjunction with a webcam/my watec and a uv/ir cut filter)....I guess what I'm asking is will my new baby be harmed in the heat? How long will she be able to take it? My new baby is called TMB 80/480 LOMO btw!

No limit. 99.999% of the heat & light never even enters the scope, what does get through is very little more intense than the full moon.

I think you will get sun damage before the scope does.
