A (too) warm, humid day with a hazy but reasonably transparent sky & moderate seeing.

Overviews in CaK and Ha:

0909 UT. Coronado PST CaK, prime focus, DMK41

0914 UT. Solarscope 60, 0.5x focal reducer, DMK41

The main feature on the disc is the new active area 11072 which changed little during the day - it looks as though it's about at the peak of its development!

The other feature of interest on the disk is the huge filament which isn't there any more - well, there's just a shadow of its former self at the location where its southern end was:

Transparency moderate (uniform haze). Seeing moderate with some boiling. Temperature 22C (am), 20C (pm). Wind S force 3-4 (am), N force 2 (pm).

Absolutely beautiful set of images Brian.......thanks for posting them.

I've only just comes in from the garden and it's a wonderful sunspot group in white light. Must get a Pst again asap.
