I caught a nice widefield shot, shame about result

Hey all, so I went out and actually managed to get some nice images of the sky. How ever i am happy with catching something, just a shame about the light blob. Image below, dont think nothing can be done about it, but I want to know how it happened, as I thought I positioned myself in a spot in the garden to avoid the street lights or is it amp glow??.

Think so too, did you use a lens hood?

What focal length did you use?
