EQDIR and PS2 Gamepad

Just got me a PS2 adapter so I can connect to the USB on the Obsy PC to use qith my EQDIR

I cannot get the PC to regognise the gamepad at all, looked for a driver, no avail.

The EQDIR wont let me do any config to allocate the pad buttons.

What have I done qrong?

I found this post on the EQMOD Yahoo group - doesn't mean anything to me but it may help ...

Hello Alan,

you need its PC-Windows connector accesory. Then test your gamepad on control

panel->joysticks to see red buttons on windows working.

And you got it.

Well, I got a PS2 to USB connector. Connected it up but cannot see it in XP. Cant seem to find the drivers either.

I get an XP message saying: Your Gameport or Gameport Drivers are not configured properly.

From what have been able to find on Google, the drivers are built into Windws XP so it should work out the box, so can you confirm that the Pad works and that the adaptor works as it might be a hardware issue, also can you confirm that the USB port works?

Failing that I find a hammer does wonders

I wonder whether the person on the Yahoo group was referring to some kind of accessory to make it compatible with Windows rather than just a USB connector?

Yes, that's a similar adapter, same connections.

The ps2 Dualshock works fine on the ps2 console. No way to test the adapter.

I still get an error saying "missing or incorrect gameport"

Just wondering if it is a soundcard or a graphics card issue as they sometimes also load up gameport drivers.
