Evening all, not sure if this has been posted here at all so will go ahead anyway! i was looking for a website that showed me variations of magnification and aperture whilst viewing planets and found this!

It is really helpful and definitely informative about what you will see with different scopes! check it out ;)

As an approximate guide that's a useful link. Observing conditions and observer experience make a significant contribution to what can and can't be seen so don't be dissapointed if all the details listed for your particular aperture don't jump out at you. Cassini's division in Saturns rings for example is a real challenge at the moment even with a 10" scope because of the angle that the rings are presented to us at the moment.
