Collimation spring question....

I'm wondering whether if the collimation screws have strong springs whether its possible to collimate by just tightening, rather than tightening one while slackening the other two screws, as I think it would be easier... possible?

AFAIK only the 16" LB's had stronger springs. Anything below the 16" had the weaker springs that were sometimes replaced as they didn't hold collimation very well.

Thanks Mick. I have Bob's knobs with I think stronger springs would that work?

I have never bought Bob's knobs as my scope came with them, AFAIK you need to buy the springs seperately and attach them yourself.

I always just collimate by tightening the screws without releasing first, then after many goes you need to start again by winding them all back again.
