New Astrotrac TT320X AG Incoming

Recommended Posts

The new Astrotrac TT320X AG, wedge, pier and head were officially released 15th April. We had intended to announce it here on SGL on that date but there were difficulties downloading the product images :)

We now have all the new Astrotrac products listed on our website HERE.

We were also fortunate enough to have one of the TT320 AG with us at SGL-5 where Kevin (Beyondvision) used it for his 'Astrophotography with an Astrotrac' talk.

I think most will agree that whilst the original Astrotrac was highly regarded it was considered too expensive so fell short of its full potential. With these new significantly reduced prices it is bound to sell well so we have ordered a quantity of 'all' the new products so they will be available off-the-shelf.

A complete Astrotrac Travel System is also available.

Delivery is expected over the next 2-3 weeks.

HTH,

Steve :D

Our delivery includes not only the new Astrotrac TT320X AG but also the Astrotrac TW3100 Wedge, Astrotrac TH3010 Head, Astrotrac TP3065 Pier and the complete Astrotrac Travel System!

The Astrotrac TT320X-AG shown at SGL-5 has sold, orders placed prior to the 25th May will be dispatched for delivery on the 26-27th.

Hope that helps,

Steve :)

We are receiving a number of enquiries regarding the Astrotrac TH3010 Head. The TH3010 is similar to the William Optics EZtouch mount in that it accepts a Vixen-type saddle. With the saddle fitted you can mount any suitably-sized telescope with a regular Vixen-type (Skywatcher, Celestron & others) dovetail. The saddle adds £33 to the price and can be selected when ordering.

The Astrotrac TH3010 head can also be mounted on top a regular photo-tripod with a photo 3/8" 16tpi thread. Used this way it makes a neat and effective grab-and-go Alt-Az mount.

Can you tell me is the new version of the Astrotrac any improvement on the original model? I have the original and it works well but was wondering if there was any proven reason to upgrade to the new model?

Thanks

Kevin
