I thought he turned 90 last year? At least, that's what he told us at the GCSP last year. We had a cake and everything.

I believe that he was a Buddhist monk in California when he started making the eponymous telescope.

This is very true. His talks are captivating, entertaining and worth just about any price of admission. He's done more for amateur astronomy in the U.S. than pretty much anyone.

That said, just because he's famous doesn't make his physics right. Keep that in mind, and have a good time if you attend. 8)
