NGC 2419 - Finally found it!

The intergalactic wanderer. It has eluded me for a long while, but now with the help of being in the dark sky location of the Spring Star Party at Kelling Heath I had a great view of it. I even managed to draw a sketch of it too. My frantic scribbled field notes were- "A faint circular patch below two bright stars, the 20mm Nagler and the 8.8 Meade UWA gave similar contrasts".

The Intergalactic Wanderer (I prefer Intergalactic Tramp) has always fascinated me. At nearly 300,000 light years away it must be one of the furthest Milky Way objects we can see - nearly 10x further than most of our regular globular clusters like M13, M3, M5, M92 etc. This is a quick snapshot from a while ago.
