eq6 making nasty noises

use a 10" on the eq last night ive noticed it soung like the mount was grinding and ideas the balance was good though had a extra 4kg do i need to service the mount

Was the grinding sound when the mount was just tracking or only when you were slewing?

just when slewing bud is this normal

It makes a whining noise when slewing but "grinding" sounds like something different to me...

Take a look at Astro Baby's EQ6 strip down guide here on the equipment section. It is very thorough and well illustrated. I wopnder if one of your motors has become slightly displaced making the gears mesh badly?
