Where to go in Northamptonshire for less light?

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

Newbie here and a newbie to astromony through a telescope. Just taken delivery of a Skywatcher 150p and blow me, on the first night, had clear skies and saw:

Mars

Saturn (including the rings) - ain't it gorgeous?

A few little open clusters

.... and not a lot else as I have loads of light pollution. This was expected as I live in a town centre and despite a big back garden, all the neighbours seem to have lights on - (considering sabotage...).

Anyone in the area know a good spot to go?

Hi,

I'm part of the Nene Valley Astronomy Society and we often have observing sessions at Sywell country park, we also have a meeting coming up this coming Monday 19th April at Chelveston Village Hall why not come along as i am sure other members will have suggestions about good locations (I'm based in Raunds btw).

Matt
