Hi all,

Just a quicky,would a TMB planetary 6mm EP be suited to a SW explorer 200p?

Would it be any good unless seeing conditions were first class?

This would give a magnification of 1000/6=167 - well within the capabilities of the 200P.

I think it should be fine. I wouldn't go any higher then 6mm but this will give you x200 if your focal length is 1200mm which I think it is.

I use my 7mm Uwan alot with my dob and on planets and moon it's great.

It's an F5 scope, so 167x is correct.

But an F5 scope is quite fast, someone who knows about EP's will know better if the ep in question is suited to a F5 scope.

The TMB Planetary eyepieces are well corrected and work nicely in fast scopes such as your F/5.

Can I put in a cheeky question here?

How well do the TMB/TS planetary series EPs work in slow scopes such as the Skymax 127.

I have need of a high power long eye relief EP. My highest power EP is a 6.3mm plossl, but it suffers from too much light scatter in this scope and is terrible on the eyes. I'm thinking along the lines of a 7 or 8mm TS planetary HR.
