What an amazing hobby this is.

Last night I saw 60 million light years into the past, what other hobby allows you to do this.

I saw 15 galaxies in just a couple of hours.

Wonderful...

Coma Berenices and Virgo are just awash with galaxies.

I like to compare what I see in the sky to Earth's timeline, and imagine what a civilization could see of Earth if they had the technology. 60 million light years into the past they'd see rotting corpses of dinosaurs, early primates jumping around, a supercontinent in Australia and Antarctica still joined together and no sign of India or the Himalayas. I think its amazing to think that is what they would see of us right now!

Nice one doc. It does put work and life into perspective doesn't it? Polar caps on mars, stars forming in M42 and then out into galactic space.

Time travel... now there's a thought. I wonder who will be the next living person / being to see the light that you saw Mick ? After all... now it's passed us, it's gone forever. Wierd eh ?
