DFK21 firewire - week contrast ??

Hi Everyone,

Last sunday I was a bit experimenting when taking some solar AVI-s. I have both the DFK21 Firewire and the DFK31 USB camera's, and - to my surprise - it turns out that the DFK21 can give much less contrast than his "brother". Or is is only me ?? The contrast slider is greyed out In IC capture for both camera's, so there seems to be no chance to change it :headbang:.

Could someone highlight what is going on here ?

cheers,

Janos

Janos,

I also use the DMK21 firewire for ha solar.

Are you using IC V2.1??

Under Device Properties I can set Brighness/ Gain/ Exposure

I usually record AVI in Y800 and vary the exposure ie 1/8 - 1/20 sec for proms and around 1/120 for surface.

Certainly no lack of contrast!!

Is there anything else I can check for you??

Ken

EDIT: sorry I see you have the DFK version....Hmmm don't know.

Thanks Ken,

I didn't install IC Capture V2.1 yet, so I give it a chance. Nevertheless I suspect it is a hardware limitation of the DFK21, I don't expect much change.

cheers,

Janos
