It's a cracking lens and works a treat for daylight photography. It's my most used lens. I've not used it, as yet, for astronomy. I think there may be a small CA issue with it based on some of my daylight images, but it's very small so may not be noticeable. EF-S lenses are designed for APS-C sensor bodies. You can't use them on full frame bodies, as the rear lens element intrudes too far into the body and will impact on the mirror. This causes an effect on usage for Astro, as you can't use the EOS Clip filters with EF-S lenses.

I have read that with some modification of the lens that can be overcome, but you will invalidate any warranty on the lens, and removing part of the lens may affect it's performance.
