Mars - 16th February 2010, 19:45UT

8" F/6 Newtonian at x300.

Seeing II - very steady

CM = 178'

Lots of high thin cloud around that I was able to view through and that seemed to help with the view !!

Very definite darker areas in the middle of Mars with lots of brighter regions to the east and west - more subtle than my drawing skills though !!

For the first time ever I managed to see the Hyblaeus extension - more as a difference in brightness between two regions, very subtle indeed.

Considering this is the quiet side of Mars I found a lot to see and draw helped by unusually good seeing.
