Had a go with Saturn, my last ever drawing of the planet was a total disaster, so hoping to be able to improve on the technique. Details were much more subdued compared to say Jupiter or Mars.

The North seemed to display more in the way of features. The southern hemisphere was very bland.

Nice drawing, sadly Saturn doesn't change much apart from the occasional outbreak but the rings look great. They have opened up a little since I last saw it.

Great sketch. I'm still trying to pull in the magnification on Saturn, maybe if I can get out earlier when He's higher.

According to the Nasa web page, Saturn's ring tilt goes from 4.9 at the start of February down to 4.7 by the months end.

By May, they have them down to 1.9.

I have always found that one hemisphere shows more detail than the other and it is always subtle.

Hi Towa, nice sketch! The features on Saturn seem to be a bit more muted compared to last year.

Saturn can display many changes but they are subtle- you may notice dark barges and projections in both the NEB and SEB, the colour of the zones may sometimes containa greenish hue, and it is not uncommon for shortlived white spots to appear in the various bright zones.

Good stuff Towa. That's more detail than I could pull out with my 16" last time out. Mind you it was very low down to the horizon when i last took a peek. Nice to see the cassini division:)
