the gods conspire against me

just got in at 8.00 pm, sky lovely and clear, Mars fairly high in the east, right i`ll get my kit ready and try to image Mars, first time out after getting a laptop and spending a good few days putting software on it and getting it all as i want it.

out comes the mount from under the stairs, scope, laptop, cables, webcam, red light torch, woolly hat and scarf, all piled up by the back door,

went outside to move the car so i can put it all on the drive so the mount doesn`t get all dirty, looked up and would you belive it,

CAN`T SEE A THING !!!!

cloud cover almost across the entire sky, what do i have to do to get a couple of clear nights ?

It could be cloudy over Sandbach where I live

I am constantly teased by small gaps in the cloudage. I can barely gain a bearing before they swoop in and curtail my ambition.

Pretty clear here but seeing oddly not that good. Been out for 90 mins but the wet snow's now turned to a sheet of ice just where scope goes.
