Sorry, but I think the article was a load of old tosh. Its also grossly innacurate, astronomy did not start with Galileo, nor did it take the Hubble to point out what a glorious universe we live in. Those of us who were awake pre Appollo already knew that, I grew up in a world where pictures from Palomar and the like, in increasing detail, then colour, inspired me to my first telescope.

As for Apollo, anyone who like me sat glued to a TV till the early hours of the morning, to hear the words that 'the Eagle has landed' will never forget the shared sense of achievement. Man was actually standing on another world.

Sorry, but no picture, however pretty, comes close to that.
