Synta 120mm f8.3 refractor

This is all I know about this scope, that is being offered for $249. Is this a good scope? Anyone have any experience with them?

I've got one, use it for moon 'photos mostly. Anything specific that you want to know WH?

Quick summary:-

Appears to be good for an achro with very little false colour

Takes 2" and 1.25" EPs

No collimation possible (or necessary)

I would use a scope like that specifically for planets and the moon. Do you know what it weighs?

Just weighed it at 10 pounds on the bathroom scales, though she tells me that they're wildy inaccurate and are out by at least twenty pounds.

That would make the scope lighter than air then?

Should go on the eq3 happily WH, but you'de be on the edge. Next you'll want an APO hehe

That's one pound lighter than my present OTA. Cool. Now to see if I can get this past Mrs. Warthog without getting gored.

I've had that scope on a EQ3/2 and it was fine, good for planets/lunar stuff I didn't really use it for anything else TBH.
