Power Tank Advice

Just purchased a Celestron Nexstar 8 SE, but need some advice on which power tank to choose, I have seen a 7 AH for about £55, how much obseving time will this give me? dont want to make the wrong choice! Cheers, Paul.

i would have gone for a 17ah.

you will find them at caraccessory shops, etc. often cheaper than the ones sold for astro, but basically the same.

Astronomiser should have the right cable for your mount if you decide to go down the cheaper car jump starter route (much cheaper for essentially the same thing).

A 20Ah Gel cell battery and electronic charger will also give you good service. Mine are almost three years old and still going strong.

and it's got plenty of "oomph" at 20 AH and unlike a lot of jump starters all the leads detach from it. also the inverter works pretty well if you need 240v for anything ( was a godsend last week when the power was off all evening ) the good news is it's on offer at £89
