Suggestions for a medium-length eyepiece

Recommended Posts

Okay, so here's what I have at the moment, used with a Skywatcher 200P:

Meade 4000 plossl, 40 mm, 25 x, 2.08 deg TFOV [barely used, to be honest]

Baader Hyperion, 21 mm, 48 x, 1.43 deg TFOV

Revelation Plossl, 9 mm, 111 x, 0.47 deg TFOV

Wide-angle 6 mm, 167 x, 0.36 deg TFOV

There's a definite gap in the middle here. Any suggestions around about the 12-13 mm range, or thereabouts? And no, I can't really afford an Ethos! Let's say £150 tops. A wide-ish FOV would be nice. Is the 13 mm Hyperion going to be my best bet?

I'd look out for a 13mm Type 6 Nagler 2nd hand (try a wanted ad). They are superb IMHO and very nearly as good as an Ethos. You should be able to pick one up for your budget. 13mm is a really useful "workhorse" focal length (which is why the 1st Ethos was in that FL of course !) so it's nice to have a really good one as it will get a lot of use.
