T-ring for Canon DSLR

Recommended Posts

Am I correct in saying that on my Skywatcher Explorer 150PL I only need to purchase a T-ring adaptor for my Canon EOS 350D DSLR and it will then fit into the focuser?

What are the benefits to more expensive T-ring adaptors or would I be completely fine going for the standard value one? I will mostly be focusing on lunar/planetary shots for now.

Thanks

Johann

Yes and no.

If you get a T ring the camers (with T ring) will then screw into the focuser.

But the 150PL only has a 1.25" focuser and with a chip as large as the Canon's you wwill get quite severe vignetting (darkened corners).

You can change the focuser (which I have done) and then it works a treat!
