OIII filter vs OIII filter?

hi guys,

Anyone know the difference between a 'visual' OIII filter and a photographic one? (No, this isn't the first line of a joke!!!)

Are there any transmission graph available for direct comparison.

I'm thinking of getting an OIII that I can use with my Watec video camera. The visual OIII I have is too 'harsh'.

bandpass...the visual one is wider

also the ccd ones tend to be IR blocking

Cheers guys....I wonder if the narrowness of the bandwidth will make the views from the video camera better or worse for things like the Veil? When looking at it with the ol' mark one + an OIII, it leaps out at you with loads of definition etc. Putting the visual OIII on the watec, and I couldn't see a thing!?

That could be the watec spectral response curve, not seen it, but just a guess
