ASTEROID TONIGHT?

Hi there,

I read in the newspaper that there will be an asteroid passing the earth sometime tonight. Quite close, moon-distance. The article said it should be visible with asmall to medium telescope. Does someone know, whether this is visible from the UK?

It is but it's likely to be a tricky object to see. The magnitude of the asteroid is approximate at the moment and could be as faint as +12 as it comes up in the twilight sky. Here's a chart showing the approximate path...
