William Optics Megrez 90 FD

Anyone heard anything about this scope. William Optics have obviously done the right thing and brought out a 90mm to offer something above the over-crowded 80mm sector.

Looks like there's only the expensive full blown Megrez FD version at the moment. I wonder if a cheaper Zenithstar 90 SD/ED will follow?

It looks like a great 'scope - I would love one. If it is up to William's usual standard, it will be well made and sharp. But I will have to wait and see if the SD/ED follows.

Can some one please enlighten me as to what FD / SD / ED stand for?

I think the FD is Flourite, ED is extra-low dispersion and i have no idea what the SD stands for.

FD = F***ing dear

SD = slightly dear

ED = extremely dear

My guess is, Flourite doublet for FD. The others - :scratch: :scratch: :scratch:

All I know is my Megrez "semi Apo" is billed as SD.
