SW focuser motor -extension cable??

Hmmm

I thought the little phone type plug on the SW focus motor WAS a phone type plug.... it's not!

It has the 4 wires, just the same spacing by the looks of it but the body of the plug is only 7.55mm wide whereas the std phone one is 9.5mm....

Should I just file the phone one down to fit... or cut the ends and make some 2.5mm jack plugs/ socket end connections????

The smaller true 4 way "RJ" plug is normally used as the telphone handset plug... I'd try and file it down first and then if that doesnt work change connector style...

If you do decide to change the connector style, then note that you only need TWO wires. The wires are doubled up in the controller.

Pete/ Steve,

I'll probably rethink it now and use some heavy cable ( minimise voltage drop) with the 2.5mm plug/ socket - that way I can use the JMI handcontroller/ or Shoestring FCUSB on either the ED80 or the Lx200.

Already figured out the wires (Yellow/Green and Red/Black) - but why then use a stereo three section plug????.
