If it's inside warranty, get it done properly...if not, then yes, it is...but if you're not confident pulling it apart, get it done by someone who is

Many thanks Dave, following some advice given to me by PM (personal message not Sir PM), I have had the side off and readjusted the angle of the prism. I think it went out of alignment when the prism snagged with the case at one end of the focussing range. I now await some Sun to see whether I have succeeded.

Your link did lead me to another that I had seen years ago and was going to search out again, and that was what to do when the tuning happens at the end of the adjustment range.

Oh yeah and test at the biggest mag if you have a 5x lens great.

5X will test the optics for sure, I would go 3-4X, it will be obvious if it's right
