NASA Astronaut - Bill MacArethur - In Scotland

Recommended Posts

Just got back from the Glasgow Science Centre, where three NASA people gave a one and a half hour presentation. The final speaker was Bill MacArthur, who has flown the shuttle 3 times and spent 6 months on the ISS - returning to Earth in April of this year. A great talk on the ISS, what the plans for the future are and why it is important to put people into space. There were about 350 people in the Audience and a vote of thanks was given by the Scottish Astronomer Royal at the end.

A great night - and it was free (I am Scottish - so cost is a SERIOUS issue) :)

I am not sure - the talk was sponsored by Careers Scotland and the Institute of Physics. They said they were also going round schools. So I think this talk was a "one of" for Adults. Pity really, as it was interesting and informative, with an audience ranging in age from 10 to 70.
