ISS passing on its 20:36 fly over.

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody, I have just seen the ISS passing on its 20:36 fly over. What a sight, I've never seen is so bright for such a long period. It was visible from one horizon to the other, It just amazes me every time I see it. I cant wait to see the Iridium 18 at 21:21 tonight, it should be around -6 at my location.

Caught it twice last night, first view at 19:51, where it was almost horizon to horizon, second view at 21:26 when it got half way across the sky before fading. Binos really emphisise the speed this thing goes, especially whith a starry background.

I told Mrs Yeti that it's the mothership!

was lucky with the cloud for the 20.15 pass tonight, even more lucky was waking up at 20.08 without setting an alarm (im not lazy, work nights and only got 4 hrs sleep yesterday thanks to puppy).

anyway, the cloud hid it till it was about 20 degrees up and was intermittent till it was almost at his highest but it made a fantastic sight untill it disappeared close to the eastern horizon.

it also provided a good chance to do a naked eye comparison of the comparative brightness of it and jupiter
