my 1st sketch at the eyepiece Jupiter

Hi all, here is my 1st sketch I have done in from an eyepiece. My artistic skills are very non existant as I have never been very good at art (only matchstick men and dogs). There were a few more details I saw but not being very good I kept it simple with 2 bands and the moons. I transfered my work using MS paint. Be gentle...lol.

jupiter on 16/07/09 00:45 195x magnification 10mm with 3x barlow, I dont think scale is bang on though not far out.

This is a great start! Trying using averted vision to see if you can pick up the dusky poles.

VERY well done, Anthony! Don't worry about trying to make a sketch look like an image.. we aim for accuracy, not a photographic look-alike. You've done very well. Kudos!!!

Lovely drawing. I saw Jupiter the sam night and saw the two satelites either side...I do think the bands on Jupiter line up with the satelites so you might want to check that next time..
