Problems with neximage colour

I am very new to astronomy, particularly imaging and I wondered if anyone could help...

I have been trying to get a image of the sun using a neximage, I am using a celestron solar filter (white light) and have added a #21 orange filter to try and introduce some colour to the captured image, however, the captured image, and preview for that matter, still only appears white.

Am I doing something wrong?

Any help would be much appreciated as its doing my head in!

Hi there, I used to have a neximage and i seem to recall that there was a setting in the capture software for B&W or colour.Have you checked that?

Thanks for that but i had already checked the tick box. I was wondering whether it had something to do with the picture being overexposed, and so not showing colour properly?

I'll have another go when the Sun comes out!

Good point! My first go at saturn came out white because of over exp. Once adjusted it came out a nice yellow.

Exposure or auto white balance being on would be my bet...
