Is it usual for the dec motor to foul the RA motor housing at either extreme of the RA travel? I cn't see any other way that it can fit to avoid banging into the RA slow control knob in one direction and the RA motor box in the other. I've already had to repair the dec motor's connector when it got skicked of during a session.

Yeah I seem to remember i had the same problem. I took the cover off the motor which allowed a little more room but yep I had the same issue.

Yep same problem on mine, don't see any way around the problem.

That's why goto and computer-controlled mounts perform a "Meridian Flip" when they get close to this position. Looks like you will have to do the same manually - it's a 180 rotation in RA, and the same in Dec... leaves you in the same place but scopes on the other side of the mount.
