Stellarium help please

well its nothing huge but do you guys input your location elevation? if so how do you work it out? Is just the height above sea level?

Once you'd input your location for me it automaticaly sets my elevation to the correct one. Mines in London and set at 26M if I adjust it then I get a different location. I'm still learning what to do with stellarium so don't know if that was any help.

This is the tool you need. It allows you to find your site on the map and will give you the altitude. Think an accurate position is useful for the iridium flares found on Heavens above site.

EarthTools - Find places, latitude/longitude, sunrise/sunset, elevation, local time and time zones

Down the left hand side is the find elevation/height above sea level
