First Lunar Afocal Report

Here is my first attempt at Afocal Astro using the moon. Earlier shots are daylight with the later ones just after sunset.

The equipment

Nexstar SE8 with Skywatcher 40mm EP giving x 50 mag

Universal Digicam adapter of the skywatcher type(picked up on Fleabay for £6. This required an extension (the white plastic bit) to take the camera as its lens is longer than standard point and shoots. Baader do a pucker one for £20 but mine cost pence.

The camera Panasonic DMC FZ18. Great all round camera with a good telephoto up to 800mm but lens fixed on umlike DSLR's

Method

Apature priority with manual focus. The exposure was adjusted in the LCD to give a good image and autobracket used which causes the camera to take three frames + or - an adjustable exposure value.

Selftimer shutter actuation.

I enjoyed myself :D

Thats very similar to my fuji finepix 8000 18x zoom. How are you getting on with that setup Bigwings?
