PHD or GuideMaster?

Could someone advise me on which guiding software is the easiest and best one of the two to use. I have PHD installed on my laptop in conjunction with EQMOD, but when I click on the Loop button in PHD the preview screen turns white, showing no image. But if I move the brightness slider on the bottom of the screen on PHD, it briefly turn black, but then white again. I have tested the guide cam with the testing software and it works fine and it is compatible with PHD any ideas or advice very appreciated as I would like to try out a guided exposure.

You don't say what cam your using but usally you have to copy the cameras driver file (dll) th the PHD directory, in the case of a QHY5 you would copy the cmos.dll file.

The cam that I'm using is an Opticstar PL-130M COOLAIR, I have copied the files to the directory and it does find the camera. Any suggestions?

I prefer Guidemaster to PHD because it's got a great little drift alignment tool, they're pretty similar other than that.
