A friend emailed me this link to a wonderful device that uses a PIC microcontroller to give full GOTO capabilities to a EQ mount. The PICGOTO project can be found here Driver

There is also a yahoo user group (mainly in Spanish, but many English speakering users too) where all the documentation and circuit diagrams can be found.

After doing a google search for Picgoto, I came across quiet a few websites that gave quiet an indepth account of building this great little project.

As for the cost, well when you compair it to adding full goto capabilities to either the EQ5, HEQ5 or EQ6, I think it cant be beaten.

Oh, and yes, you dont need a PC to control it either. hehe

Hi, Thanks very much for the heads up, I'm just looking for the very thing for my EQ6, I've just done a conversion but find it dog slow at 25X slewing.
