Beautiful photos. What telescope did you use?

Hi there,

I run a SW Evostar 150 with a 2x Barlow into a Canon EOS 6D full frame DSLR , Baader ND5.0 and an Oiii filter to enhance the contrast (because it saved me £150.00 by not buying a Continuum filter , works pretty much the same ... 😉)

All of which only compounds the difficulties you overcome, so frequently, to such good purpose.

Do you set up, from scratch, every single time to capture your remarkable images?

The whole lot goes on the HEQ5 Pro? How on earth does that cope with the slightest breeze?

Hi Chris ,

The rig is left set up and ready to go in the summerhouse at the top of the garden , I just lug the lot about ten feet into position , connect the camera and focuser control cables , fire up the mount and start shooting ... 😉

It's a bit of a pig if it's really windy but it's fairly well protected from most of the generally prevaling southerly through westerly breezes and if it's really gusty I use a couple of opposing bungee chords to act as a kind of damping thingy which helps to a degree.

The 'scope kept shuddering and bouncing about this morning although there was no breeze to speak of , had me baffled until I turned round from the desk and saw two Robins argueing , one stood on the camera and the other on the finderscope ... 😆
