Steve Ward Posted Tuesday at 10:50 Share Posted Tuesday at 10:50 Proper 'lucky imaging' today , tiny blue patch wafted by so barely had time to get him in the frame and rattle off a hundred shots before he disappeared again and the rain started , stacked twenty-one of them ... 😉

Planetary Observer Posted Tuesday at 19:23 Share Posted Tuesday at 19:23 Very nice, especially with the small window you had to capture them in.

That's the advantage of having everything set ready to capture at a moment's notice , from lugging it out of the summerhouse and plonking it in roughly the right place it's just a matter of connecting the two USB cables that control the camera and focuser and firing up the mount and EOS Utility , focus was still set close enough from yesterday to not need tweaking so I just ran off 108 frames at about 4/second until it clouded over again , start to finish in about four minutes . The poor seeing made the focus drift in and out but gave me plenty of sharp frames to play with .
