Jupiter Opposes Sun - 2023 NOV 02-03 - Io Occults its Shadow

During the night of 2023 NOV 02-03, Jupiter will oppose the Sun. As viewed from North America during the predawn hours, Galilean satellite #1 Io will be seen partially occulting its own shadow as they both transit Jupiter. Below is my rendering of the event.

I had this in my diary but sadly fierce weather precludes any chance. The back end of storm Ciaran. You could say, Ciaran’s Hind (groaan).

We have incredible skies right now, but winds. I'll see tomorrow morning. This morning the Moon was incredible even with the winds.

Jupiter on the other had showed the turbulence.
