Comet C/2023 H2 Lemmon

Comet H2 Lemmon is looking to be a good prospect to view in the dark skies of autumn.  Going from Ursa Major to Aquila  in Oct/Nov. and predicted to be around 8th magnitude, binocular object.

Sounds very interesting. Have imported it into Stellarium

Sounds good, I will have a look at this when it gets a bit closer as I enjoyed 2022E3 last year. Just a shame it has to come at the cloudiest time of the year.

It seems the comet will be even brighter than predicted with the latest observations - maybe even becoming a naked eye object when it is closest to the Earth around 10th of November with a distance lesser than 0.2 AU.

The 13th of October the comet will be less than ½° of the M106 galaxy which could be a fine astrophotography target.

If any of you have the capability to measure brightness and size of the comet I think the COBS - Comet OBServation Database will appreach such data very much.
