Help new telescope set up

Hi

Got a new cd80.Instructions missing,downloaded manual of the net.Stuck with connecting scope to mount.Does the scope just get placed on to the mounting platform via the bracket on the tube rings then tighten mounting screw?There is a bracket supplied i but no screw to attach to mounting bracket on the scope.This bracket fits on mounting bracket.It doesn't look to secure and don't want it to fall of . thanks tried to phone T/planet but engaged or no answer.

Jason, What is the scope ? I've looked on the tplanet website, but there's not a cd80 listed. If it's the Celestron 80ED, then if it came with a clamshell, that contains the dovetail, and that fits in the mount. If it's tube rings and a dovetail bar (the shape is sort of like a dovetail, and flares out at the bottom), then assuming they are like the skywatcher tube rings, you can use any M6 bolt through the dovetail to affix the rings to it, then the dovetail clamps ontop of the mount.

sorry c80 ed.So do i attach that bracket to the bit on the tube rings or do i leave it of?Really miffed, delivered a day ,no instructions.

If it's got a clamshell thing, wraps around the scope and clamps with clips not screwed tight then that will clamp directly onto the mount. The bottom is shaped to be a dovetail.
