Which camera is better suited for shooting the Northern Lights ASI533MM/MC or ASI178MM/MC or ASI183MM/MC. There will be three cameras, two monochrome, one with the same model. Must work simultaneously. And to which controller can they be connected?

  • Ulyana changed the title to which camera is suitable for shooting the northern lights?

Also what lens/scope will be used? A telescope really wouldn't be suitable, rather a wide angle lens like 24mm or below though 50mm isn't bad either if the event is fairly localised within a small fov.

You'll have to explain what you're trying to do with 3 cameras, some mono.

The most common setup is a DSLR with a wide angle lens.

The ASI178MM/MC has a tiny sensor.

Some ZWO Cameras, including my ASI 462 MC, come with an all sky lens, don't know whether the OP was talking about using the lenses that come with the cameras.

533 camera can handle such a task? or is 178 better? And what kind of lens can be used to shoot the whole sky?

Some ZWO cameras come with an all sky lens, not sure about the models in question.

Некоторые камеры ZWO поставляются с объективом all sky, не уверен насчет рассматриваемых моделей.

If you look on First Light Optics website under ZWO Cameras, you can view the specifications of each model they stock, or drop them a line on questions@firstlightoptics.com
