1st Whirlpool with Astrotrac

Hi,

This is my first attempt on the Whirlpool Galaxy using an astrotrac,40D (cls) & 135L f/2

48 2 minute exposures

10 Darks

10 Flats Lights

30 Bias

Am quite amazed at the sharpness of this lens wide open.

I'm learning new stuff everyday.I only wish I had used a longer lens but the sky was not very clear so i thought fast + longer exposures would sort the job out.

I like these wide field shots, M51 looks very small.

Awesome widefield Coco, loads of stars and with M51 you get that vibe of how massive space is!

Please take another look.

I have no idea why all that purple was present in the photos.

Also the crop looked over sharp. I think it was pbase's over compression.
