DMK21 -frame rate and exposures??

I've been using the DMK21 with the SolarMax60 plus AE x4, to image proms.

My usual settings have been:

Gain: 285

Gamma:10

Brightness: 175

and vary the length of the exposure to give the "best" image; I usually end up around 1/10 to 1/8 sec.

When processing the AVI, ( Y800) I'm surprised to see the frame rate works out at 30 to 34 frames/ sec. ie a 33 second AVI contains 1000 frames.

With an exposure setting of 1/8sec, how can this be???? I'd expect around 7 frames/ sec????

It must be disobeying your instructions! If the frames are actually there and you know the time it took to capture, the exposure can only be as you calculate it from that. There must be some foible it has about getting the exposure time to hold. ?

I've seen the same issue, I'm sure the exposure rate holds OK. I think the "extra" frames MAY be duplicates that are generated based on the FPS setting.

The images certainly SEEM to reflect the exposure setting ie 1/8th sec.

Next time I get some clear weather I'll do a comparison; setting the frames/sec and separate exposures....
