Altair, a question.

Does anyone have a direct connection with Altair? Are they having any problems either in the shop or online? I've had an order with them for over a month and sent three emails regarding it but no reply.

From their reviews they look a good bunch but lacking in the response debt.

My order is not a VIP order so I can still wait, but I'd like to know if they are having problems that are causing the delay.

I had no response to general inquiries to Altair Astro some years ago and haven't bothered since.

I suspect some of these companies are very small, and  born out of their hobby, so perhaps not business savvy?

Nothing wrong with that, perhaps, but their slowness to reply to enquiries, could, for all they know, lead to them not picking up good future business..

By contrast, I sent an email question to FLO earlier this week..I got a reply from Grant the same day.

They've generally been pretty quick with responses I've sent, same or next day.  Also dealing with their help and pretty good response so far.

Looking through my emails I don't think I have ever received a response to a question.

I do like their products as I own an AA mount, scope and accessories but the lack of response seen by myself and others would likely make me pause over any very large purchase.

Same as that, communication non existent. On the plus side they send stuff out pretty quickly. Pity really I have bought a few things of them, but just try sending anything back and extracting a refund out of them

There is a reason FLO are so popular. You could always try posting something on the Backyard Astro forum they sponsor, that might get their attention
