The Chicken shed

About 4 years ago we moved to a Bungalow in Mid Norfolk. In the corner of the garden were 4 very old chicken sheds, as I wanted an observatory my wife suggested converting one for an observatory.

 

After removing all the Ivy and using as much of the original shed it now looks like this.

 

Inside the shed is now like this

 

The roof slides down on runners connected to counter ballance weights

Opened up

Its been fun building it and most items were recycled like the counter weights are bricks from old storage heaters we replaced in the bungalow.

BTW the weights are about to be covered in for safety reasons but I thought people might like to see the way it works.

That is the best security....who would think there would be expensive equipment in an old chicken shed.  (^8
